Helen has taught at Locking Stumps since 1996 and prior to working at Locking Stumps, she taught at a school in Poynton.  She was previously a Key Stage Leader and Acting Deputy Head, but stepped down to spend more time with her girls when they were younger.

Helen loves teaching at our school and being part of the Locking Stumps Community.

Sheila is a retired teacher and lives in Warrington.  She worked briefly at Locking Stumps CP when she first qualified as a teacher almost twenty five years ago.  For eighteen years, she worked at a local specialist school where she was Director of Services for ten years until she retired in 2016.  Her interests are SEND and she is passionate about autism spectrum disorders in particular.  She has two grownup children and spends a lot of time with her young grandchild.

Ben has lived in Warrington his entire life. He has recently graduated from Lancaster University where he achieved his degree in Politics.

Since leaving education, Ben now works for Warrington Borough Council as a SEND Panel Officer. Ben’s main interests involve Pupil Premium and SEND where he is passionate about making sure every child has access to an excellent education. Outside of work, Ben enjoys travelling around the world – having been places such as Thailand and America.

Mark joined the governing board in October 2023. Mark attended Locking Stumps Primary School from 1988-1996. He has one child who has been through the school, one in Year 4 and one set to start next academic year.

Mark works in the local area and has been with the same company for 20 years. 

Under his more commonly known pseudonym of ‘Tolly’, Mark has coached football in the local area for 7 years, focusing mainly on two teams but also being involved more widely within the Birchwood Juniors set up

Neil is a lifelong resident of Warrington, currently residing in Fearnhead and working for 30 years in the National Civil Nuclear Industry, based in Birchwood. He currently has two children in the school, with a further one having completed their Primary education at Lockies at the end of the 2024 academic year.

He is particularly keen to encourage interest in, and development of, local Young People in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects and is an active STEM Ambassador

Neil has previously filled a Parent Governor role at a local High School from 2020-2024 filling various link roles including Health & Safety and Buildings & Operations alongside providing a voice for Parents on the Local Governing Board.

He fulfils a number of Roles with the Institution of Engineering Technology (IET), particularly around Education and Development, including being a member of the Academic Accreditation Committee (Further and Higher Education) and also as an End Point Assessor for Apprentices.

Neil is also keen to promote sport and healthy lifestyles in Young People and is a Member of Rylands Sharks RLFC Committee and a Junior Coach and also coach of the school rugby team

Andrew joined the governing board in March 2025. His ambition to become a governor came from an innate drive to support people and organisations to unlock their full potential. His curiosity for understanding people and organisations, how they tick and “why”, enables Andrew to explore novel routes to drive towards effective outcomes.
With over 20 years experience as a digital Product leader in major digital technology brands, he's to learnt about, adapted and drove organisations to effectively return on their investment through concentrating on solving user problems through understanding their needs with empathy. Andrew believes his digital skills and experience will be useful to advise or grow the school’s technology capabilities to better equip the children for the future of work.
Drawing from his personal experiences, Andrew wants to support the school and its staff to further its goals in inclusion, improve through innovation and achieve the highest of standards.

Jessica lives locally and has a daughter who currently attends the school, so she has a real interest in the school and the wider local community and, is looking forward to being able to support the school, the staff and the children in any way she can.

Jessica actually attended the school and was part of the school swimming team, so is happy to now be involved in the school again, but from a different perspective.

Her current employment role is as an Office Manager for a company in Manchester and she is currently returning to work after taking a year off for maternity leave. Her job involves lots of organisation, communication and generally keeping things running smoothly.

Jessica was also previously a foster carer for Warrington Borough Council, which gave her experience of supporting children from a variety of backgrounds and understanding that every child is different and may need different types of support.

Jess is really looking forward to getting involved as a governor, bringing her experience as a parent, former pupil and local resident, and hopefully making a positive contribution to the school and the children who attend it.
